This blog chronicles the reported disappearance, search, discovery of Ricky Holland’s body and the trial and conviction of his adoptive parents, Tim and Lisa Holland formerly of Williamston Township, Michigan.
Ricky was just 7-years-old when he was murdered by his adoptive mother, Lisa Holland.
Ricky was a severely abused child in the Holland family. He was abused by Lisa Holland and neglected by Tim Holland. He was also neglected by the other extended family members who failed to act on the signs of abuse.
The neglect as extended to the Department of Children Services when social workers assigned to his case failed to act on direct evidence of injuries to not only his body, but on the bodies of his siblings also living in the Holland home.
Hundreds of people in the Williamston area spent days up to and including the 4th of July searching for a child reported missing who was already dead. The Holland’s did not participate in the search for the son they claimed to love. Some of the searchers had to go to the hospital because they suffereed heat stroke during the 90-degree plus heat.
That search took place beginning July 2, 2005 and lasted through the July 4th holiday.
Today marks the 3rd year of Ricky’s reported disappearance and murder. It marks the 3rd anniversary of a child’s death that did not have to happen.
Rest in peace Ricky.
