Ricky Holland Vanished

Recently I had a visitor to this blog – she/he went by the name Susie. Susie defended Tim Holland’s family in the comments section. I found the decision made by Susie to leave her defense of the Holland family in the comments section of a blog devoted to the victim of the Holland’s at the least insensitive and at most very arrogant. I created a short blog entry out of that comment so most of you readers would not miss the chance to see it. Below is the comment Susie left in early June:

Susie’s Comment:

“I like how all of you people think you know everything. I personally know Tim Holland’s family and they are not the monsters you make them out to be. They did know to an extent of what was going on with Ricky and they did go to other sources for help. Remember a lot happens behind closed doors that know one knows. A lot of children are abused behind closed doors but it is not always seen and parents (yes, Tim and Lisa) are capable of making everything seem like all is well. Plus, remember there can be monsters in families who just scare the heck out of you and you avoid them. So stop trying to act like you know everything and condeming everyone. Work on getting the system fixed and say prayers. I will tell you that the kids in care of the Holland family are perfectly safe and taken care of.”

Susie has returned and decided to bless us once again with her words of wisdom. Apparently Susie has decided it is more important to attack this writer and the less fortunate rather than offer to be of help in finding a solution to the deadly situation in the Michigan Child Protection System. It is too bad because Susie lives in Michigan.

“Well, I was trying to be nice and try to be helpful but since you insist on being ignorant I will continue. First of all I never said I was in charge of praying. Second of all if this wonderful birth mother wasn’t a CRACK WHORE WHO MARRIED A CONVICTED PEDIPHILE, maybe poor Ricky would have had a chance. Maybe if these good for nothing birth recepticles could stop drinking and doing drugs and cross their legs and think of what they might be doing we wouldn’t have the problems of unwanted children. So many children born just because mommy wanted to get her ya-ya’s off and then we have to pay for it. Dear God, please keep abortion legal and lower the price so I don’t have to pay with my taxes for unwanted kids. How’s that.I thought in the Bible through Jesus we were supposed to forgive others and not repeatedly cast stones? What would Jesus do? Would Jesus continue to be mean and hateful to others? (And, no I am not a religious person so don’t even try that. I just want to know where you get off being so hateful. Didn’t Jesus preach forgiveness and let God do the judging?)And whether I have a child is no of your business. Just because I know someone does not mean that I’m going to murder my child if I have one. What kind of thinking is that?”

Susie, I don’t know how you could consider your comments as either nice or helpful when stated in the comment section of a blog totally devoted to the wrongful murder of an innocent child. And then you go on to attack the birth mother. Your words are less than kind and more or less judgmental. If you knew the whole story of how Ricky came to the Holland House of Horrors you would know that Casey could not care for Ricky at the time he was placed. She asked for help and support from FYI and in the end her rights were terminated.

Remember, Casey was never accused of or found guilty of physical abuse or even mistreatment of ANY of her children. Her only crime was being young, undereducated, poor, and with a lack of parental support. I have never met Casey or Tim and Lisa Holland. I do know one thing for sure. In the pictures of Casey, I saw the pain in her eyes of a mother whose child was murdered. I also saw the crocodile tears shed by Tim Holland trying to save his own sorry ass from a hefty prison sentence. I also saw Lisa Holland’s cold stare during her trial. The only time she cried was when the judge told her she will spend the remainder of her sorry life behind bars. Susie, don’t come back here and spew your hatred for the less fortunate in society. If you support Tim Holland and his family go open your own blog and spew that nonsense there.

Notice, I set a boundary for Susie. I told her to not come back and leave nasty comments. This was a warning. Susie took it to be me throwing down the gauntlet. The reason I know this is that she left 9 comments on the 13th of July that were vile and were directed at some of my readers as well as myself. I will share them here on the blog. Note, some of the comments quoted below indicate the author’s name as Justice. Susie created another user name to leave the meanest comments – she also created another email address to go along with the new user name – justicevigilante@hotmail.com. I know Susie and Justice are the same person because I was able to track her location.

I DON’T SUPPORT TIM HOLLAND nor do I support that fat slob Lisa. They both got what they deserved. I DO feel horrible about what happened to Ricky. When the truth came out as to what happened to Ricky I WAS SICKENED and I continue to be saddened and upset about his death.
I guess I just don’t understand how God, Jesus and the Bible preach about forgiveness yet none of you are capable of that. I never knew of any abuse as Casandra ASSumes I knew.

Caring, what do you care if I have a child or not? You ASSume that I abuse my child? You ASSume that I will murder my child? As for the Holland family knowing of the abuse they didn’t know of the horrors. Lisa was a bitch and a harsh person, that they knew, and with most people who are bitches you can assume they are bitches to their children. But that type of abuse? They would have never sat there and allowed that. As for Tim, it’s ashame that he knew everything and wasn’t man enough to do anything.

Laura, who cares if you were adopted? My best friend was adopted by the most wonderful family also. There are plenty of very good people out there who have adopted kids.

Yep, I am capable of forgiveness but not for the Holland/Taylor clan. As far as it being ‘a shame’ that Tim knew everything and wasn’t man enough to do anything. Oh brother. It is far worse than a shame Susie. Not only did he not ‘man up’ and protect the son he professed to love, he watched him die for an entire week. Claiming he could not leave and take Ricky to the hospital, he was still able to get his own ass to the doctor when he sprained his ankle that week.

A sex offender is a sex offender. Just because you may have been molested when you are a child then go on to molest others when you are older does not exonerate you from your crimes.

I agree. Once a sex offender, always a sex offender. Being a victim of sexual abuse as a child does not and should not exonerate you if you go on to offend someone else.

This is simple psychology, you dumbass. The “younger couples” are uneducated white trash who are just stupid and don’t know better than to say I did it. The Hollands are educated people who simply are trying to cover their ass and get out of a bad situation. It’s that simple.

Name-calling is not a sign of true intelligence during an exchange of differing opinions. Name-calling is a sign that you do not have an adequate command of the English language to convey your viewpoint.

I still find it interesting that the older Holland’s were unwilling to step up and take responsibility for their actions considering the fact they were deemed excellent candidates for the foster parent program as well as being an adoptive couple. Our United States Army gave Tim Holland a very high security clearance as well. Be afraid, be very afraid.

You should have focused on your own family problems than writing a whole website to tear a family apart. Don’t you think that Tim and Lisa’s family are dealing with a lot? I’m sure they are not proud of what has happened. How about just keeping the focus on Ricky, Tim and Lisa and leave the rest of the family out of it.

This blog started out as an effort to help locate Ricky. As the case progressed it became clear to me the Holland’s were not interested in finding their missing son. Your assumption that I started this blog to ‘tear a family apart’ is totally erroneous. As far as my own family problems, well you are assuming I have a family or have family problems. You are also assuming I did not concentrate on anything else except Ricky. You assume a lot considering we do not know each other. Or do we?

I have written about Casey’s relationship with Matthew and how I feel about her decision. I have never tried to paint Casey as a saint, nor as a complete victim. She made poor choices in her life that harmed most of all her children. I doubt her poor choices have caused the rest of the world to suffer their consequences. You certainly are giving Casey a lot of power.

I can understand giving up one kid to the state because you are dumb but to continue giving birth to more kids and constantly asking the state to take your kids because you are irresponsible?

She did not ask the state to take any of her other children. The law in Michigan is once a mother loses her parental rights, no matter if she gets her life together, CPS steps in and removes the child. If you are going to get mad at someone, why not get mad at the state of Michigan for not providing or insisting on birth control for Casey until she was deemed responsible.

There you go again, not being kind. I don’t know why Cassandra did not get the kids. Maybe CPS had a deal with the Holland’s. Maybe there was some baby brokering going on with the social worker and the Holland’s. At one point Casey was told by the social worker to stop having kids because Lisa didn’t want any more kids. Hmmm.

Susie/Justice, this comment was the final straw. It shows just how sick your spirit truly is. I found myself feeling as though I had been punched in the stomach when I read this final comment. I am not surprised you are associated with the Holland family after reading this comment from you.

I hope you can get some serious help for your issues. There is never a reason to wish someone ill over a simple difference of opinion. I have done nothing to you. I don’t even know you.

Today marks the second anniversary of Ricky Holland’s reported disappearance and murder. What changes have been made to the Michigan Department of Children’s Services to prevent more children being murdered while under their watchful eye?

When it was revealed that Ricky had been murdered at the hands of the two people who were supposed to love and raise him as their own, and his body dumped in a field, Governor Grandholm vowed that changes would be made to the system. She vowed that she would ‘get to the bottom’ of what happened to allow this terrible thing to happen to Ricky. Of course Governor Grandholm appointed the proverbial ‘special’ committee to research the case.

The person appointed to head the committee, state Rep. David Law, R-Commerce Township, ran into opposition from the State Ombudsman’s Office when Representative Law requested the case files. He was told the committee could not have the records because of ‘privacy concerns’. Representative Law asked Governor Grandholm to intervene and he was met with opposition from the Governor as well.

In the end, the recommendation made by the committee was to make the State Ombudsman’s Office accountable to the legislature instead of the Governor’s office. The recommendation was made after Governor Grandholm was re-elected so naturally she decided to veto the recommendations. Her official response was there is nothing wrong with the current system.

Since Ricky’s death two other children have died while in foster care. Last year, Isaac Lethbridge succumbed to injuries inflicted by an unknown person or persons while his foster mother and many other adults were in the home. His foster mother, Charlsie Adams-Rogers was tried and convicted on charges of involuntary manslaughter and 2nd-degree child abuse. She was sentenced today to 51/2 – 15 years in prison.

Also last year, Allison Newman succumbed to her injuries. It is alleged foster mother, Ann Poole tossed Allison off a landing during a game of ‘whirlybird’. Ann Poole is awaiting trial.

Another child lost his life in foster care in Ohio last year. Marcus Fiesel was left bound with duct tape inside a closet while his foster parents attended a family reunion in another state. Marcus was found dead when they returned home. Just like the Holland’s the Carroll’s staged a fake disappearance causing many resources to be utilized for nothing.

Also, just like the Holland case, David Carroll received a plea deal, his wife stood trial and was sentenced to what equals a life sentence.

This is where the similarities end.

The foster care agency that placed Marcus with the Carroll’s and had the responsibility to make sure the Carroll foster home was safe has lost it’s license as a foster placement agency. Recently, two laws were passed to strengthen the rights of children in foster care to help insure that they are placed in safe homes. A park was created to honor Marcus.

What has Michigan done? Reelected a Governor who claimed to care about foster children and has done nothing to back up that claim.
