Ricky Holland Vanished

No Christmas for Ricky

Story Created: December 24, 2005

This is about the saddest entry I have written about Ricky. I can’t believe he is still missing and that there do not seem to be any leads in his case.

Earlier this month there was an interview given to a local television station by Ricky’s biological mother. Apparently she was asked to take a lie detector test and she passed. She expressed her sorrow about her son’s missing status. She also expressed the love she still has for him even though she no longer has parental rights. I wish we heard more in the media from Ricky’s adoptive parents.

People talk about adopted children as being lucky because they are “chosen” by their parents and supposedly the love for the adopted child is “special”. I have not seen any evidence of this with Tim and Lisa Holland.

Ricky, if you are still alive then wherever you may be I hope you are safe, happy and warm. I hope you are not scared.

Merry Christmas, little guy.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

Story Created: November 10, 2005

I posed the following questions on my Ricky Holland Forum:

1) Why have the parents of Ricky Holland, Tim and Lisa Holland been silent in the media regarding the disappearance of their son?2) Why did they get an attorney?

Someone claiming to be the Victim’s Advocate for, I guess the family, posted a response.

“There are a few reasons you’ve not seen Tim and Lisa on any national coverage, but much of that is personal and I am not willing to share it without their consent. I can tell you that Tim’s job is very high security. The work that he does is confidential and, because of this, he can only appear with local media.
Please know that just because you don’t see them, it doesn’t mean that they’ve not been active in his search. They have been very involved from the start, and have done more for the search than I could write in this post.
Regarding their reasons for obtaining an attorney, again, I can’t speak for them. However, I would have done the same thing. The way the media has a tendency to distort facts to appeal to a viewing audience that seems to only want “drama drama drama” these days, obtaining a lawyer is a good way to ensure that very little inconsistency occurs and it minimizes finger pointing. The Ramsey case is an excellent example of that…”
Well, the Holland’s have certainly made excellent use of their attorney. He has spoken for them frequently in the past couple of months when they were served with search warrants, a total of four.
As far as Tim’s job is concerned, I saw a reference made to his employment in one article and it stated that Tim is in the Armed Forces. The article did not indicate which branch of the Armed Forces but I believe it to be the U.S. Army. The only reason I say this is because there have been several visits from military sites to this blog as well as to the web sites I have set up for Ricky. It is just a guess that it is the U.S. Army.
I read over the articles published during the first month of Ricky’s disappearance. You can view the articles at the Forum. Interestingly almost all quotes were from Tim, I believe there were only two quotes attributed to “the parents” and one attributed to Lisa. The quote attributed to Lisa was when she stated “No that is not my son.” this was when she viewed a surveillance video from a Mc Donald’s restaurant.
The only other quotes I have read attributed recently to Lisa Holland were last month when she referred reporters to her attorney for comments regarding the search warrants, and one other quote when she disputed the information that she had told police that Ricky had packed his backpack with items that have been mentioned in the media. She claims she just made a list for the police of things she noticed missing from the home.
The only quote I have read of either Tim or Lisa Holland stating that they love or miss their son was one from Tim Holland:

“I tell him all the time: he may not have come from mommy’s tummy but you came from her heart and my heart,” Tim said about Ricky. “We tell him all the time that we love him more than life itself.”

    Actions speak louder than words.

    Excuses:
    1) I would be out searching but the police have told me to stay home so that they can bring Ricky to me.

    2) I would be out searching for you but the police told me I need to stay home in case you call or come home.

    3) I would go on National Television to make a plea for your safe return but my job is very high security. My employer told me I can’t appear in the national media, only the local media. But they printed thousands of fliers for me and your mom to distribute all over the state and we have done that.

    4) During an interview at our attorney’s office I know it looked bad when I really didn’t say much and just stared out of the window and your mom kept answering her cell phone.

We really do love you; we just don’t know how to show it through action.
