I am in the process of moving so I am not sure when I will be back online. I am at the mercy of Earthlink making the right decisions and NOT taking away my ability to connect to the Internet using dial-up after they close my DSL account. Earthlink has disappointed me in the past, I hope I am not disappointed this time.As far as Ricky’s case is concerned the only new developments that I am aware of is the hearing in family court asking that the Holland’s parental rights be terminated. I do not know if the hearing officer made a decision. It was determined during the hearing that the remaining children could not stay with Tim Holland’s relatives and they were returned to the custody of the state. I would imagine that they are staying in foster homes. When the initial court hearing was held on Tuesday, Lisa Holland requested that the hearing be postponed. She did not think it was fair for her to have to appear in her orange jail issued jumpsuit. The hearing officer granted her request and that is why the hearing was postponed until later in the week.

On another note, Lisa Holland requested that her bail amount be reduced from $1 million. Her request was denied for the decrease in bail.

I will leave you with my feelings that I expressed in an email reply to someone who left a comment.

I certainly share your sorrow and disbelief about the murder of Ricky Holland. I became frustrated with the case when media focus went away after the initial search was called off. I could not understand how a 7-year-old could be deemed a runaway and it be accepted so blindly by law enforcement.

Many people, I think, including law enforcement were initially blinded by the Holland’s appearance of self-serving good works. The Holland’s made a good case for appearing to be good people who, out of the kindness of their hearts adopted not only one but all of Ricky’s siblings. And, my oh my, Ricky was a troubled boy with various mental disorders and he had so many behavior problems that poor Lisa valiantly decided to home school the boy.

I can see how people were duped for a while.

Since it appears you share the same love I do for a good mystery, my favorite author is Ann Rule, here are the things that troubled me from the start about the story of Ricky’s disappearance:

  1. Ricky was called a runaway by his parents.

  2. Lisa Holland’s story about leaving for the store, forgetting something, returning home and then telling Tim to awaken the children, and then leaving again.

    • This seemingly innocent statement spoke volumes IMO. Most people would say, Oh I left for the store, realized I forgot my list, credit card, etc. and went back home to get it. No, she just forgot something.

  3. Tim Holland’s account of just going to Ricky’s door and knocking and not going in to awaken him. Most parents of a 7-year-old would go into the room to awaken a sleeping child.

    • Tim Holland stated that after a few minutes he paused while putting bread in the toaster and realized Ricky was being too quiet. He said he should have gone into the room, but he trusted him.

  4. The bed pushed up underneath the window and the window open. This was obviously staged. I believe a child like Ricky would have simply gone out the front door in the middle of the night. Ricky had a history of going into neighboring homes uninvited looking for food. He would not sneak out through his bedroom window.

  5. On the missing poster the description of what he was last seen wearing included the backpack. The Holland’s claim the last time they saw Ricky was when they tucked him into bed. I don’t know about you, but my children never slept wearing a backpack.

  6. Tim Holland’s high security job prevented him from appearing in the MSM. His employer, the U.S. Army told him he could only appear in the local media.

    • Lisa Holland did not appear in the MSM pleading for her son’s safe return.

    • Most parents of a missing child would tell an employer to take a hike if they told them they could not appear in the mainstream media to locate their missing child.

  7. The Holland’s hired an attorney.

    • During one of the interviews given to the local media at the attorney’s office Lisa Holland, according to the reporter spent most of her time tending to the baby and taking calls from her cell phone. Tim Holland just gazed out of the window. Both answered very few questions.

  8. They alerted the police when they decided to bury the family dog in their backyard approximately two weeks after Ricky’s disappearance.

    • I believe this was a cover. I believe they originally buried Ricky in the backyard and unburied him and replaced his remains with those of the dog.

    • They had to get his body off of the property and this was a good way of doing it to avoid suspicion.

    • I think the reason the dogs did not hit on a scent in the backyard is that the dogs being used at the time of the search were not cadaver dogs. Any scent of Ricky’s that would have been picked up by the bloodhounds would have been explained away by Ricky playing in the yard.

These are my observations.
